Kilchurn Castle,Scotland

I had travelled the previous evening from Pitlochry in a torrential downpour ....hard driving along narrow winding roads.I stayed the night in a small inn planning to try and get to Kilchurn castle for first light and praying the rain would stop. The next day i got up at 6am and after breakfast made the 20mile drive to the site of this amazing Castle. The sky was super clear and my hopes were up ,i arrived at the site across from the Castle and saw there was about 200yards of bogland between me and where i wanted to be for my composition....broke out the Waders and off i went...thank god that i put them on as i was soon knee high in Scottish mud. Made my way and started to get to the area directly across from the stunning site ..set up the 'Magic Box'and marvelled at the complete stillness of the water ...before i knew it i was joined by a fellow photographer and we passed a pleasing conversation about our Craft and the beauty of the Castle..before another 20mins had passed ..some different compositions we were joined by two more Artists ..and this is where i met John and Pat for the first time, two Scottish Artists who were lively with greetings and some good banter ensured...i ran into John and Pat Four more times that day over a stretch of about 70+ miles ..from this Castle to photographing deer at Glen Etive ...i have stayed in touch with both and a good strong friendship is developing...its the Journey of My Photography which is the true Magic happening...meeting new people and being in the most wonder places you could ever imagine ...Please Enjoy Reflections of a Castle Kilchurn Castle is a ruined structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe , in Argyll and Bute , Scotland. It was first constructed in the mid-15th century as the base of the Campbells of Glenorchy, who extended both the castle and their territory in the area over the next 150 years.
