Black Rock Cottage and Buachaille Etive Mor......as you leave the barren bog land of Rannach Moor and head towards the breathtaking Glen Coe there is a Photographers dream Vista,the Black Rock Cottage with the Mountain ' Buachaille Etive Mor' in the Background... I left my Hotel early and made my way up to the Cottage ..it was dark...freezing Cold and black ice everywhere ..i know as i nearly went 'arse over tit' several times as i went from my van to get the composition i wanted ..I laughed as it made me remember the cartoon where Bambi was on ice....i set up the Magic Box(the name i have for my Medium format camera)and i waited for the sun to come up and for a break in the mist to reveal the Wonder of the impressive mountain...and i waited ..and i waited for two and a half hours to get this image ...my fingers could hardly press the shutter as they were so cold.....and that was with gloves.... Landscape Photography is the Yang (My Documentary and portraiture is the Ying..fast paced ..instant decisions have to be made)of my work...slow it all down....wait for light and scenes to reveal themselves..walking with 40lbs of gear on to remote locations and you can hear the sounds of your own body as you walk...it is my meditation...its where i find peace in my heart and mind by Aéngus@SaoirsePictures ..
