"Dunotter Castle",Aberdeenshire,Scotland

Itis a ruined medieval fortress located upon a rocky headland on the northeastern coast of Scotland, about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Stonehaven. The surviving buildings are largely of the 15th and 16th centuries, but the site is believed to have been fortified in the Early Middle Ages.

I arrived early before dawn to try and capture this incredible Structure...the weather was not kind....the sideways rain and extreme wind made things really difficult,once again i was Totally alone ,the Castle grounds were closed so i walked around the clifftops trying to get my composition ..i used my Leica Q for dramatic Black and White and then for the Color i set up my medium Format in a small Gully i found that shielded me from the wind.To see these castles in Scotland in some very beautiful Landscapes is truly breathtaking....i always imagine how they were built all those years ago and then about the centuries of History on the very land im standing on ...quite humbling .
